Real Life Weddings: Suzanna & Paul

August 10th, 2012 by Lewis Posted in Real Life Weddings | No Comments »

Suzanna and Paul first met when they were at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2002. Paul proposed eight years later in April 2010 whilst having a picnic outside York Minster on Suzanna’s birthday. They have 2 daughters, Grace 4 and Charlotte 2 who were very much a part of every aspect of the wedding planning.

The marriage took place in May 2012 at the stunning Langley Castle in Northumberland and Suzanna shares her top wedding planning tips with us below:

Did you have a look or theme in mind for your wedding day?

The theme was very floral. We envisaged an English country garden theme inspired by Ivy Ellen’s beautiful Vintage Floral stationary.

Who were your top 3 wedding suppliers that helped make your day special?

Northumbrian Photography ( Tony was a fantastic photographer. He took time to meet us so we knew exactly what to expect before and after the wedding. He was always at the end of the phone or email if we had any questions. He put us completely at ease before and on the day. Tony also built a lovely rapport with our daughters who still talk about him and the role he played in our day. We are very pleased with the photographs.

AMV Music ( provided us with Ashleigh Humble singer and pianist who performed during our ceremony and during the champagne reception. Her voice was stunning and our guests all thoroughly enjoyed her performance.

Katherines Florist based in Gosforth ( With the help of Penny at Katherines she helped us put together our flowers and table decorations to fit with our theme. She loved the Ivy Ellen stationary and often called me when she had a new idea that she thought would work well. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

What top tip would you give to brides whilst planning their wedding/on their wedding day?

Make sure you plan the morning of the wedding so everyone knows what they need to do and you can relax knowing that you will be arriving at your venue calm and ready to enjoy the happiest day of your lives.

Were you happy with your wedding stationery?

Yes very much so. I searched and searched the internet looking for something beautiful and unique. I fell in love with the Vintage floral range as soon as I saw it and when the sample arrived we were not disappointed. The service received by Lewis and the team was wonderful and everything we asked for was accommodated. We would definitely recommend Ivy Ellen. All our guests commented on how beautiful the invitations were.
