A Beautiful Valentines Day Wedding Theme

Friday, February 10th, 2017

The big day of love is just round the corner, you know the one, February 14th. A valentines day wedding theme would be SO beautiful we just have to show you some tips on how to achieve it.

First a little history…

Throughout the decades valentines day has become very commercialised with an abundance of chocolates and red roses. However it all started with Saint Valentine — it is thought that Saint Valentine of Rome was imprisoned for performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry. According to legend, during his imprisonment, he healed the daughter of his jailer, Asterius. The story also goes on to state that before his execution he wrote her a letter signed “Your Valentine” as a farewell. So a declaration of love — what better theme for a valentines day wedding?

Real Life Weddings: Lisa and Richards’ Pretty in Pink Wedding

Monday, August 4th, 2014

Lisa and Richard married on a beautiful day in July 2014, their perfectly pink wedding was held at Bailiffscourt Hotel and Spa in West Sussex. Lisa recalls “Richard and I had been together 18 months when we got married.  We met online, just before I was about to cancel my subscription after having met my fair share of weirdo’s!!  His email started with “I don’t really get the whole winking thing so I thought I would just write you a mail…..”  It made me laugh because I didn’t get winking at someone online either. I wouldn’t do it in person so why online?! We met for our first date 7 days after our first contact, our eyes met across a busy Brighton car park and it literally was love at first sight for us both. We had both been through bad relationships and we feel as if we have been given a chance at happiness. We plan to make the most of the rest of our lives together to make up for the lost time.”

Lisa shares her thoughts on the big day, the proposal and gives us her top tips!
