If you require your wedding stationery sooner, we offer an express service that guarantees despatch within 6 working days of proof confirmation. This service is subject to an additional charge. Please select the express delivery option at the checkout stage for this service.

Samples are available of all our wedding invitations and are available in any colour. Samples are charged at £2.50 per sample however you will receive a coupon code to claim the cost of your samples back, up to a value of £10 when you come to order, on orders over £40.

Is there a minimum order value?

There is no minimum total order value, however many of the items have minimum quantities. This is due to the handmade nature of your wedding stationery and the set up involved. The minimum restrictions however do not apply to re-orders of additional items - please contact us for more information.

Do I need to order all my stationery items in one go?

No. It is often the case that the quantities for your other stationery items depend on the response from your wedding invitations. You can place your wedding stationery order separately and we will have all your design and colour preferences remembered to make ordering your other stationery items extra easy.

What are your payment terms?

Due to the handmade-to-order nature of your wedding stationery, payment is to be made in full upon placing your order.

How do I let you know what I want written in my invitations?

Before proceeding to checkout you will be prompted to create an account with us where you can enter your wedding details. If you choose one of our suggested invitation wordings we will then take the information from your Ivy Ellen account online. If you would like a custom wording this is no problem, please email details to us at hello@ivyellen.com once your order has been placed. For all other items such as menu cards & order of service cards please email details over to us.

Will I see proofs before my wedding stationery is printed?

Yes. We will send you proofs of the text for all your stationery items via email in the form of a pdf document for you to view. It is only once you have signed the confirmation of these proofs in writing that we will proceed with your order. If you would rather a hard copy of your proofs, please inform us upon ordering and this will be arranged for you.

What should I check for on my proofs?

Your proof will show you how your wedding insert is going to appear to your guests. You should therefore check that all spelling is correct, you are happy with the layout, all stationery items are included, all dates and information is correct and the colours you have chosen are correct (if applicable). We include a proof check sheet with every set of proofs we send out, making it easy and straightforward for you to check.

How is my Wedding Stationery Delivered?

Your wedding stationery will be securely bubble wrapped into a solid box and delivered by courier using a signed for service. As the delivery is to be signed for, please let us know if you wish for your wedding stationery to be sent to a work address.

What is the Delivery Charge?

There is a UK delivery charge of £6.50 for each order under the value of £360 (excluding Northern Ireland). All orders above this value are delivered free of charge. Due to their size, table plans will be sent separately. The express service is available at a cost of £50 and ensures your order is despatched within 6 working days of proof confirmation on a next day service. Overseas delivery is available and prices are quoted on checkout (as a rough guide, EU deliveries are usually £15.50).

What happens if I run out of Invitations?

We always advise purchasing an extra 5 – 10 invitations to be on the safe side as there can often be last minute changes to your guest list. If you do, however, need to order additional invitations then providing there are no changes you wish to make, we will produce them for you at the same rates. Minimum order of 5 invitations.

What Happens If My Wedding Is Cancelled?

Once you have received your wedding stationery we do not accept returns unless your items are faulty. If there is a cancellation before you receive your stationery, we will endeavour to help you in this situation and will refund any items that have not been handmade by us up to that point. This will be up to a maximum of 50% order value.

What If I wish to cancel my order before the proofs are approved?

Due to the handmade nature of your wedding invitations, if you wish to cancel before you have approved your proofs then you will be charged 50% of your order value (up to a maximum value of £100) set up fee and refunded the remaining value of your order total.

Etiquette

How long before my wedding day should I send my invitations?

To ensure your guests have enough time to make any arrangements necessary you should send your invitations out at least 8 weeks before your wedding day. It is usual however to send your invitations around 3 - 4 months before your wedding day.

Should I send Save The Date cards?

If your wedding is taking place during the busy summer months, it is advisable to send out save the date cards to your guests between 6 – 12 months in advance. Your wedding invitations will then follow closer to the time. Similarly, if your wedding is overseas or requires your guests to make a number of arrangements, then save the date cards are ideal to ensure enough time is allowed.

Should we include guests’ children’s names on the invitations?

If you are inviting children to your wedding, you should include their names on their parents’ invitations. If your guest’s children are not included on their invitation they should assume the invitation is for them only. If you are not inviting children to your wedding, it would be polite to include a line at the bottom stating this.

What if guests can’t attend and I wish to invite others?

If a number of guests cannot attend your wedding it is generally acceptable to send invitations out to others, as long as you sent your original invitations out early enough. This should be done as soon as possible however to avoid guests feeling second choice!

Should I send invitations to family or close friends I know cannot attend?

It is courteous to send invitations to family and close friends you know cannot attend as a polite gesture. This is usually greatly received, kept as mementoes and seen as nice token for those who wish to attend but cannot.

Should I include a wedding gift list with my invitations?

It is generally considered impolite to include a gift list with your wedding invitations. Traditionally guests would ask the mother of the bride, or wedding hosts, for gift ideas. If you wish to send a gift list to your guests, it is advisable to send your list along with an information sheet or menu form to your guests at a later date once they have confirmed.
