12 Wedding Statistics and Trends You (Probably) Don’t Know

Thursday, September 5th, 2013

The lovely folks over at The Wedding Secret HQ have been working hard on deciphering the latest wedding statistics and trends for marriages in England over the last, well, 100 years! To make things easier for us they’ve put together a brand new infographic which summarises the emerging patterns of the results.

Interestingly, it shows that despite the general downward trend in the number of marriages per year since the 70s (despite a growing population) the last few years (2009-2011) has seen a 6.6% increase.

The Marriage Act 1994, which allowed certain approved premises to host civil ceremonies has also had a big impact on where couples are choosing to get married. 57% of marriages are now conducted in these kind of premises, which has obviously seen a huge reduction in the number of registry office weddings, with the number of religious ceremonies decreasing in this time also.

The full infographic can be found below:

The Wedding Video launches on the big screen!

Friday, August 3rd, 2012

We are very excited to finally be able to share the news with you, that some of our very own stationery will appear in the new film ‘The Wedding Video’…

The Wedding Video

Starring Rufus Hound, Robert Webb and Lucy Punch, the film is a comedy set in the cut throat world of English society weddings and documents the chaos of planning a wedding from the eyes of the best-man Raif. Described as a ‘shambolic oaf with a unique sense of humour’, Raif decides to film a wedding video as the couple’s wedding gift, hence the film’s very apt title.

Trends for 2012: Monochrome Wedding Invitations

Friday, January 27th, 2012

Monochrome is set to be an interesting trend for 2012.

Inspiration comes from Audery Hepburn in Funny Face, continuing our love of all things vintage…

Think Chanel couture, bold, brave and oh so elegant.

Both our Cherish range and our Brighton range are available in monochrome colour ways.

Cherish will compliment a romantic theme beautifully, whilst Brighton is perfect if you’re looking for something modern and unique.

Whichever’s your favourite, you can be sure a monochrome element will give a sharp and sophisticated look to your day.
