Ivy Ellen Update: London Wedding Invitations

Thursday, May 5th, 2016

One of our most popular designs since it’s release in 2013 has been our London wedding invitations. However this year we have done a little update – London is an evergrowing city and we felt our wonderful wedding invitation should refelect that. We have now added The Shard to our skyline – now one of London’s most popular and iconic bulidings.

The London design is still printed onto our luxurious 300gsm pearlescent board with gloss foiled text. We have a selection of fonts, personalised inserts and matching pearlescent envelopes available too. However the best bit about our London wedding invitations is that they are available in up to 192 different colours! Yes you did read that correctly, 192 different colour choices. Not only can you match these invitations to your colour theme but you can be 100% exact. The price for these London wedding invitations start from just £2.25 per invitation. Ivy Ellen – 3 Weddings and a Baby

Wednesday, February 10th, 2016

As the saying goes ‘there must be something in the water’ – we currently have not one, not two but THREE people getting married at the Ivy Ellen offices – not to mention one of whom has just had possibly the cutest baby known to man! So, this gave us an idea – what kind of wedding planning is going on? Does working in the wedding industry make them fussy? All three have different budgets, different ideas and different dates…

Stephanie and her fiancé Liam

Stephanie and Liam have been together since they were 15 – so 7 years this year! You may have already seen our series of blogs entitled ‘Sussex Bride‘ – this is a weekly update on the wedding planning process behind Stephanie’s big day seeing as she is getting married first! However we still got a little rundown from her and her partner Liam about their celebrations and the details behind it… Read the rest of this entry »

DIY Wedding Invitations Tutorial: Belly Bands

Tuesday, June 30th, 2015

Belly band wedding invitations. You may have heard this word a lot recently when looking at your wedding stationery and you may even be looking to order some yourselves (we obviously suggest that you do). Our belly band wedding invitations look fantastic, are practical and unique all at once! When ordering our belly band invitations you will need to assemble the bands yourselves as they are partial DIY wedding invitations! Here we have a simple tutorial of images and steps explaining the best way to create your DIY wedding invitations and even a little vine!

Step 1: Ensure you have all the right pieces. You should have one clear round sticker, one ribbon/twine piece, one tag, one band and one invitation to make a full belly band invite. Show here is our Lavandula Belly Band Invite with Silver ribbon instead of twine. Read the rest of this entry »

Friday, March 20th, 2015

It’s that time of year again – the big spring clean is upon us! Every year here at Ivy Ellen we do a big spring clean out around March time ready for the new year ahead – I’m sure many of you at home do the same. Ivy Ellen is actually a sister company of Blue Eyed Sun, an established greetings card company. Blue Eyed Sun are stocked all over from John Lewis to Paperchase and even Harrods.

Blue Eyed Sun is owned by Jo and Jeremy – as you may have read on our blog, Jo is the Ivy Ellen designer too (a very talented lady). Whilst spring cleaning they came across their very first wedding invitation order, before Ivy Ellen was even created. Below are a few pictures of this invitation and a little history about how Ivy Ellen was started and the journey we have taken… Read the rest of this entry »

From Wedding Shows to Wax Seals

Monday, October 22nd, 2012

Well, what a busy few weeks we’ve had! The workshop was bustling whilst we readied ourselves for two of the best wedding shows around. So here’s the news….

Firstly we had The National Wedding show, the U.K’s largest wedding event with over 250 suppliers exhibiting and upwards of 6000 brides, bridesmaids, mothers and the occasional groom! We had a great reaction to our new ranges which we previewed at the shows, already some of the designs look set to be bestsellers but more on that later!

Inside our Workshop: Floral Invitations

Saturday, August 18th, 2012

With August here but not with the sunshine that we’d hoped for, we thought it may be time for a post to remind ourselves (and you) of our gorgeous floral designs. What better way to take our minds off the grey skies than feasting our eyes on some floral invitations?!

From Vintage Floral to Vintage Garden via Bloom and Beauty there really is a floral for everyone! We have 12 designs which feature flowers, some are very subtle such as Freya with its delicate design whilst others like Florila are bold and bright. Vintage Garden has a timeless elegance that fits so well with so many themes or colour schemes. Vintage Floral which features a range of beautiful flowers including a peony, is a firm favourite with couples choosing to add a vintage element to their day.

Ganesh Wedding Invitation Inspiration

Thursday, May 10th, 2012

This month we had such fun making these customised Ganesh wedding invitations for our wonderful clients, Millie and Baz, that we just had to share them with you.

Ganesh is a Hindu deity and is widely revered as the Remover of Obstacles, and more generally as the Lord of Beginnings, which makes his symbol perfect for a wedding. What we loved most about making this job is the way the personalities of the bride and groom shines through. This wedding looks like it will be such fun to attend.

Pleasure Wedding Invites for Sarah and Ollie

Wednesday, March 21st, 2012

We have been making some lovely wedding invites for customers this month and these ones really stood out for me so I thought I’d share them with you.

They are made with lovely thick 350gsm GF Smith board in a rich fuchsia colour. The couple’s names are hand foiled in silver foil and the wedding invite is tied with gorgeous silk Beresford ribbon. This shutter-fold design reveals the luxurious pearlescent inserts within containing all of our couple’s main wedding details.

I really enjoyed making them, but what counts most to us is that our customers are pleased with the results. I’m happy to report that Sarah and Ollie were delighted with their order saying they were beautiful and thanking us for “fantastic customer service.”
