5 Ideas For Your Wedding Dress After The Big Day

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017

In the midst of this busy wedding planning have you thought about what you are going to do with your wedding dress after the big day? Some brides spend £50, others spend £5000, but after the wedding day has come and gone – what do you do with the gown? Today we have researched 5 different options for your to take a look at. Spoiler – our favourite is the 3rd and 4th option 🙂

Wedding Dress After The Big Day

One of the most popular options is of course storing your wedding dress. The best way to do this is to source a reputable company that will professionally store your wedding dress in the correct way. For example many dry cleaners offer to not only properly clean your wedding dress after the big day but also provide wedding dress storage boxes. These boxes should eliminate light, protect from accidents and be made from a breathable material lined with acid free tissue. This offers the safest long term storage and protects the dress from natural elements, preventing the loss of colour or “yellowing” over time. The price of this will vary from company to company but Connoisseurs Dry Cleaners in London usually charge around £150-£200. Read the rest of this entry »

Okay so the first thing you need to do is make sure you have a backup plan for anything that is planned outdoors. For example your ceremony location should either have an indoor alternative that you can use or some kind of shelter should be available. For example if you’re planning to tie the knot in the middle of a field – perhaps a gazebo or even plenty of large umbrellas would be a great way to save the day. Your wedding day is one of the best days of your life and part of what makes that day so special is being able to share it with your friends and family. Sending a wedding thank you card is a personal and proper way to thank your guests for not only their attendance but also their generosity in the gifts they give you.  So here are some pointers…

Be personal – Your guests would have put a lot of thought into your gift and how they presented themselves on the day. So make sure that you return the favour by mentioning how much you loved seeing them on the day and thank them specifically for their gift.

Should You Take Your Children on Your Honeymoon?

Thursday, April 27th, 2017

As more and more couples find themselves getting married and honeymooning once they already have children, the big question arises. Should you take your children on your honeymoon? Traditionally the honeymoon is a vacation that the newlyweds take together after the wedding, a romantic and fun get away to kick off married life. However would this be the same if you took a little person with you? Many companies are now advertising different types of honeymoon – the mini moon (few days away) and even the familymoon. So with that in mind we decided to ask someone who knows a little more about this situation. Ivy Ellen’s manager, Lewis, is soon to be wed to his lovely fiancé Emma and together they have their beautiful boy Jesse. Together they had to look at the decision of taking your children on your honeymoon.

Children on Your Honeymoon - WEDDING

So, over to Emma…Should you take children on your honeymoon?

When we first got engaged one of the main talking points was the American road trip we were going to do for our honeymoon. 4 weeks off work (If Lew’s boss was nice enough), starting somewhere around Memphis and working our way round all the musical cities of the South. Epic. Then plans changed a little when we found out I was expecting Jesse (we put the wedding off for a year to start). Read the rest of this entry »

Should Your Groom See Your Wedding Dress?

Monday, February 13th, 2017

Tradition says that it’s bad luck but should your groom see your wedding dress before the wedding ceremony? Seeing each other before the ceremony or even having a hand in choosing the dress is becoming a new favourite. The ‘first look’ photos that we keep seeing everywhere are to die for, and are such a sweet moment. Here are a few reasons for and against letting your groom see your wedding dress!

S&M - groom see your wedding dress

GROOM SEEING THE WEDDING DRESS

Many brides and grooms experience a lot of anxiety and nerves before the ceremony. By enjoying a ‘first look’ moment together you can calm and reassure each other.

One of the most wonderful photographs to see is the grooms reaction when he first sees his bride. Many grooms may try to stop themselves from getting emotional when in front of a crowd so a first look is super sweet!

If you were superstitious then shouldn’t you also be wearing a face covering veil, having your maids in white and about a hundred other things?

If you had a say in what suit he chose, perhaps he would like a say in what dress you choose also?
