This week we’re excited to share with you the bright and multicoloured wedding of Elizabeth & Tom! Back in July 2017 Liz and Tom tied the knot at the beautiful Gaynes Park in Essex. Liz recalls her memories from the day and top tips for brides to be with us

How did you meet and who proposed?

We met on a teacher training course…although Tom quit a week after we met! Tom insists I stalked him but that certainly is not true! Tom proposed to me shortly after we bought our first house together in a very empty and dusty kitchen!

Did you have a look or theme in mind for your wedding day, and how was this achieved?

We didn’t really have a ‘theme’ but we knew that we wanted something bright and colourful to make the venue seem like our own on the day. We had seen bright paper hanging lanterns on pinterest and loved them so used the colours of those as a starting point. I also love bright pink, purple and lime so knew that this was something I wanted to incorporate into our day.

Who were your top 3 wedding suppliers that helped make your day special and why?

Ivy Ellen Wedding Stationery – Stephanie was so helpful and everything was done quickly but without compromising detail and quality.

Mega booth – We hired a hippy camper van photo booth that could fit in ten people at a time. It came with props and a guest book which was personalised to our colourful theme.

Le Papillon Patisserie – Suppliers of our cake and favours. We chose a pink ombré cake and couldn’t have been happier. The cake was stunning and is honestly the yummiest cake I have ever eaten.

What advice would you give to brides whilst planning their wedding & on their wedding day?

I would say book things early to get it out of the way and keep a log of payments you have made and when more payments are due as i got in a bit of a muddle!

What was your favourite/most memorable part of the wedding and why?

To be honest the whole day went so quickly that at the moment I can only remember snapshots. I remember me and Tom giggling our way through our vows as we both felt a bit embarrassed. I remember walking into the barn for the first time and being wowed that all my ideas had come together….before that I just couldn’t imagine what it would all look like put together on the day with flowers and all the decorations. I also remember our first dance….we did a choreographed routine to Mirrors by Justin Timberlake! I remember missing out one of the turns….I was so annoyed with myself!

I was more than happy with wedding stationery…….it was perfect.
